Job Title: Lead Toddler Teacher (Full-Time)

 

Location: Lealman YMCA Preschool Academy – 5175 45th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33714

Are you passionate about early childhood education? Ready to make a lasting impact on young learners? Join our team at the YMCA as a Lead Toddler Teacher! We're looking for someone who's nurturing, energetic, and committed to creating a positive, safe, and enriching environment for toddlers.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver high-quality care and early education aligned with the YMCA's values: honesty, respect, responsibility and caring

  • Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate activities-arts & crafts, music, storytelling, outdoor play, and more

  • Support positive behavior and foster social-emotional growth

  • Supervise daily routines like meals, free play, and playground time

  • Build strong, positive relationships with families and conduct regular parent-teacher conferences

  • Maintain accurate classroom and program records

  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and family engagement events

What You'll Need

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • CDA credential or a related college degree

  • Completion of DCF Introductory Child Care Training (Parts 1 & 2)

  • 6 months to 1 year of preschool teaching experience

  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs and actively engage with children both indoors and outdoors
